Joint letter to the German Ministry on delays in the transposition of EPBD

Today, together with VDMA in a joint letter to State Secretary Andreas Feicht at Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie we are expressing the concern of our industry on the considerable delays in the transposition of the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) in Germany. The delay is undermining decarbonisation expected from these already approved measures and is creating uncertainty for investors and professionals.

While understanding the challenges currently facing Germany, we call on the Ministry to ensure full implementation of the Directive, putting in place all the necessary initiatives as soon as possible. We continue to support the policy-makers and professionals with the implementation of EPBD as we have through our Guidelines for Transposition and the BACS Compliance Verification Checklist to help the EU Member States decarbonise and ensure our legislation is Fit For 55.
