eu.bac releases one-pager on measures for monitoring indoor environmental quality in the EPBD

In this paper, we propose the first step in the revision of the EPBD to improve Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) across the EU. Developing an extensive and appropriate methodology for establishing optimal values for IEQ parameters across the EU would require more time than the current Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) review allows for. Introducing a minimum set of parameters that should be monitored would open the door for possible parameter value requirements at the national level or at the EU level in the future. Furthermore, making the parameter values visible to occupants would incentivise intervention and optimisation of IEQ.
