eu.bac and Partners Launch Two Key Documents on Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) to Support EPBD Recast Implementation

eu.bac, in collaboration with leading European organizations, is proud to announce the release of two crucial documents to enhance the implementation of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) following the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) recast. These documents represent a unified call for coherent and coordinated action on improving IEQ across Europe, emphasizing the importance of balancing health, comfort, and energy efficiency in building policies.
We invite any interested stakeholders to join the growing list of co-signatories and help disseminate these important documents to promote the successful implementation of IEQ measures across the EU. The Indoor Environmental Quality Gathering is sharing this guidance with the European Commission to aid in the development of its guidelines for national EPBD transposition. Additionally, we will engage directly with Member States responsible for implementing the Directive, offering our collective technical expertise and experience to support national authorities in achieving their goals.
The two documents focus on:
- A Call for Coherent and Coordinated Action on IEQ: A roadmap for policymakers and stakeholders outlining the critical importance of addressing IEQ in the decarbonization of Europe’s building stock.
- Best Practices for Enhancing IEQ in Energy-Efficient Buildings: A technical guide offering practical recommendations for improving both energy performance and indoor environments for building occupants.
We thank the co-signatories from the Informal Indoor Environmental Quality Gathering for this joint effort:
