Launch Event: Cyber Resilience Act guidance for TBS and BACS manufacturers

Join us on 8 September for the launch of the joint industry paper on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) for manufacturers of Technical Building Systems (TBS) and Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS).

On 27 July, the European Commission published its new guidance on the Cyber Resilience Act. This document speaks directly to the TBS & BACS sector, with examples covering smart thermostats, smart building controllers, PLCs, complex systems, legacy interoperability and support periods.

Before that, on 7 July, eleven European associations, including eu.bac, published joint CRA guidance for TBS and BACS manufacturers. The Commission’s document covers many of the same issues and takes a very similar line, while the industry paper goes further into the situations specific to building systems.

The event will open with presentations from Tommaso Bernabò from the European Commission’s DG CONNECT, followed by an interactive panel discussion moderated by Salvatore Cataldi (Belimo) and including Tommaso Bernabò (DG Connect), Analaura Ransdale (Danfoss, representing eu.bac), Will van’t Hart (Zehnder Group, representing EVIA), Patrik Eigemann (dormaka, representing ARGE), Miriam Solana Ciprés (Carel, representing EHPA).

The discussion will explore how the CRA applies to the building automation sector, why cybersecurity must be addressed across the full ecosystem, and how manufacturers, integrators, operators, policymakers and standards organisations can work together on practical, risk-based implementation.

Online participants will be able to submit questions during the panel discussion.
